Building a tunnel is always a special challenge. With our many years of experience and our high technical competence, we are able to carry out projects successfully even under the most challenging of conditions.

Bilfinger Berger Civil UK Limited have mastered the design and construction of new and replacement tunnels of varying magnitude, application requirements and technical specifications.

Of special note is our highly-acclaimed Tunnel Construction System which provides support to roads and rails with little disruption to the overhead traffic. This is achieved by jacking-in a pre-formed concrete box under existing highway lanes or live railway tracks, with our grillage support system installed.  Bilfinger Berger has successfully carried out major tunnelling projects around the world incorporating this patented system.
